The Eagles dominated early, scoring 14 unanswered points in the first quarter. Despite fleeting opportunities, AU struggled to gain momentum. Fort Lauderdale sealed a 27-0 victory, highlighting untapped potential for the Atlanteans under pressure.
With a 5-5 record, AU participated in the Neptune Bowl in Virginia Beach against The Apprentice School Builders. The Builders dominated from the start, leading 24-0 at halftime. AU's sole points came from a fumble recovery by Burnett Godbee. Apprentice School responded with 35 unanswered points in the second half, exposing AU's struggles with turnovers. This game ended with a final season record of 5-6 for AU.
The season provided valuable learning opportunities for Head Coach Joel Williams. Adjustments, recruits, and strategic coaching changes are expected to strengthen the team for 2025. With the 2024 season now in the history books, AU is focused on building a promising future for its growing football program.
